Mallory Jones, a vibrant 17-year-old from Winchester, proudly holds the title of Miss Kentucky's Teen 2024. Currently a senior at George Rogers Clark High School, Mallory is dedicated to her service initiative, "Be Smart. Love Your Heart!" which focuses on educating the public and raising awareness about heart disease through community engagement and advocacy efforts.
Diagnosed in 2021 with Non-Classical Wolff-Parkinson White, a congenital heart disease, Mallory has transformed her journey into a mission to educate, advocate, and fundraise to combat heart disease. Her initiative, "Be Smart. Love Your Heart!" is a heartfelt mission rooted in her own experiences as a heart disease survivor. Mallory's dedication to excellence is evident through her academic achievements and leadership roles. She has testified before the House Health Services Committee to pass House Bill 11 (Tobacco-21) and has been honored with the Youth Salute Award. Serving as a Sixth Congressional District Youth Ambassador for Congressman Andy Barr and receiving the Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Award highlight her commitment to making a difference. She is also a participant in the Governor's Scholars Program at Centre College. As a dedicated student, she excels academically and actively participates in her school's Mock Trial team, earning recognition statewide. Mallory is also a talented vocalist, enchanting audiences with her performances. She yodels, performs for churches and multiple other organizations/venues throughout Kentucky. Mallory also loves being part of the worship team at her church.
Her passion for leadership is reflected in her roles as Beta Club President and a member of the Superintendent's Advisory Council. Her involvement in mentoring programs and as a junior camp counselor demonstrates her dedication to guiding and inspiring others. Mallory's initiatives include promoting CPR training, organizing heart health programs, and engaging with lawmakers to support heart health policies. She collaborates with the American Heart Association to drive meaningful changes.
In 2021, Mallory launched "Be Smart. Love Your Heart!" Through this community service initiative, she has advocated as a Survivor and Champion for the American Heart Association and worked with Representatives and Legislators across Kentucky. This experience taught her the power of community engagement and the importance of proactive health initiatives. Mallory's journey is a testament to her resilience and dedication. From demonstrating Hands-Only CPR live on TV from our State Capital to Governor Andy Beshear, to actively participating in legislative efforts, she continues to use her platform to make a difference. Mallory aspires to leave a lasting impact on the Commonwealth through her heart health advocacy, empowering others to take charge of their health and fostering a community committed to heart wellness. She is passionate about attending events where the youth of Kentucky can connect, and she can share her message. Her mission is clear: "Be Smart. Love Your Heart!" – a call to action for a brighter, healthier future.
